Term 3 @ IIMB

I always thought that the first term was when the rigour was most and as i said before.... 'u hit the deck running'....

Then u go into Term 2 and realize that everything is so smooth and things are going just fine... u begin to wonder...."Is the course load light?? or have i managed to beat the system??"... alas... pleasure is tansient!

Term 3... one week into it and u'll realize what to do to make life living hell!

Step 1 : You have no choice. You are in term 3 in IIMB and the core subjects are - Managerial Accounting, Macro Economics and Competition & Strategy. Enuf readings to keep you occupied for the whole year!
Step 2 : You think you are superman. You take up the electives...
Research for Marketing Decisions, Project Management and Investments! The most workload intensive electives.
Step 3 : You think you are 'super' superman. Participate in B plan contest and become finalists!

And then u'll notice the following...

1. There's a week's pile of The Hindu and Economic Times in your room that you havn't read.
2. Ther's 2 weeks issues of Outlook and Business World that you'v not opened...there goes my new year resolution
3. You tend to forget that taking bath is an essential necessity of every human being
4. You tend to think you can wake up at 5 after going to sleep at 2 ... and try to beat nature's sleep cycle
5. You tend to forget there are stuff to be put in the washing machine

Term 3 @ IIMB.... its when u 'hit the deck running...only to find a pit before you'!!
Hoping to survive!

I know its been ages since i'v posted here. A term has passed by...and before you know it i'v finished 1/3rd of my course :-(

Coming to recollect of some of the best i'v heard out here.

The last class marketing by Prof. Mulky

Quote on the slide:

"Students cannot be taught. All the teacher can do is to encourage them and give them the joy of study" - Juan Mascaro

The first class of Investments by Prof. Vaidhyanathan

"One fine day you come back to your room. You notice a baby elephant sitting peacefully there. What do you do?"
"There is no point in trying to figure out whose elephant it is, why it is there, how it got there, etc. What you actually ought to do is... you have a problem in hand, now u'v got to figure out how to adjust with it! Similary... you don't bother about how globalization came about, rather you try to figure out how u must cope with it to survive!"
